Tournament Format:
- The tournament is “10:10” cricket, that is 10 overs per side per game
- Overs are eight ball overs
- The total number of teams entered is six; these are split into 2 leagues of 3 with each team in each league required to play all other teams in the same league once
- The team winning each game is awarded 2 points; the team losing is awarded nil points. The team in each league with the most points is the winner and plays in the final. In the event of a tie for the top position then the winner is determined by the team scoring the highest number of runs per wicket lost across all three games
- All teams are required to adhere strictly to the schedule provided; teams must be on the pitch ready to play at the required start time; teams arriving late will be penalized one batting over for every 5 minutes they are late
- Teams bowling are required to complete their allotted 10 overs within 45 minutes. The umpires call the innings to an end after 45 minutes (at their sole discretion). Any uncompleted overs result in a penalty of 20 runs against the bowling team’s batting total. Any time-wasting by batsmen is determined at the sole discretion of the umpires and resuls in a 10 run penalty to the batting side’s total
- All teams must be properly dressed in whites, although team shirts will be permitted provided the basic colour is white
- Pitch is matting – no spikes required (or allowed)
- All players bar wicket-keeper must bowl one over
- Batsmen must retire at 20, but are able to return to bat if the whole team is out before the end of the 10 over allocation
- Only 1 bouncer is permitted per over and is called wide if out of reach of the batsman
- A ball 6 inches down legside will be called wide
- Otherwise normal rules of ‘one day’ cricket will apply with exception to the LBW rule which has been omitted
- Umpires decision is final, any dissent or argument is penalized
- Sledging is permitted as long as it is humorous and not personally offensive – umpires will be final arbiters in this regard
- Each team to provide their own equipment – bats, pads, gloves, helmets etc
- Nets for practice are provided pitch-side
