The Driftwood has been operating for over 30 years and is a favorite of upcountry Kenya residents. Many Malindi residents have made the Driftwood their ‘club’, allowing them use of the hotel facilities. This creates a fantastic atmosphere, giving overseas visitors a chance to mingle with locals, many who are second or third generation Kenyan. The Club is small and privately owned and is able to live by it’s logo; “Informality at its Best”. The Driftwood is ideal for family holidays, many whom return year after year

North beach Rooms: 9 Rooms • 2 double rooms • 4 twin rooms • 2 triple rooms • 1 triple room with fourth room Garden view Rooms: 18 Rooms • 1 Family cottage (two en-suite rooms with an interconnecting door. 1 room with a double bed plus one bunk bed, 1 room with 2 single beds plus bunk bed) • 1 Family cottage, 4 single beds with one bathroom, with fan (not air-conditioned) • 1 double room • 3 twin rooms • 6 triple rooms • 2 triple rooms with fourth bed • 3 twin "B Class" rooms - without bathrooms and air conditioning. Use main hotel bathroom facilities. Fans provided in each room. Luxury Cottages: 2 cottages situated together in a separate walled off garden with a private swimming pool. Each cottage has 2 en suite bedrooms, with a lounge area and veranda overlooking the pool. Each cottage is equipped with a mini fridge and tea and coffee making facilities.

The majority of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms and every room has a mosquito net over the beds. 9 rooms have a seaview and the other rooms are spread out in tropical gardens a short walk from the beach. There are two luxury cottages situated in a private walled garden with their own swimming pool. Each cottage has two double en-suite bedrooms with a living room and veranda overlooking the pool. Sea view rooms have tea and coffee delivered outside their rooms in the morning. Cots can be supplied on request A new addition to the Driftwood is three luxury self-catering villas situated in secluded private premises directly behind the club with a private swimming pool. Two of the villas have 2 double air-conditioned bedrooms and one villa has a third single room. Each villa has its own kitchen, living/dining room and veranda overlooking the swimming pool. Guests can make full use of the Driftwood facilities and if they prefer not to do their own catering, dine at the Driftwood Beach club

Food

The main dining room and bar overlook the Indian Ocean. Our restaurant offers a choice between table d’hôte and a la carte menus, as well as daily specials offering a wide variety of fresh seafood. During the day we offer a snack menu at the poolside. The attractive dining room lends itself to both large groups or small and the catering team are able to produce a delicious meal to your specification. Sample menus are available on request or just talk to the management staff who will organize your special requirements

The Driftwood Beach club is situated on the beautiful Silver sands beach, 3km south of Malindi town centre, and about a 5 minute drive from the Malindi airport. Malindi is located on the shores of the Indian Ocean, approximately 120kms north of Mombasa.
