GOODBYE TO THE LOVELY PATRICK

What more could a young male giraffe want than to be released into the wild? The relocation was a great success and Patrick was welcomed by other giraffe into Mwea National Reserve, near Mt. Kenya. Congratulations to AFEW, they are one step closer to achieving their goal of breeding and releasing endangered Rothschild giraffe....

NEW CALF SPOTTED ON THE PLAINS

This month had the sighting of a tiny calf only a week old being cared for by its mother out on the plain. Usually female rhino will give birth in the bush and stay there until the calf is two or three months old. Not Katja who was quite at ease as the photo shows....

Kenya and Tanzania joint wildlife census in Amboseli

It involves 50 census officials, including pilots, GIS experts, data entry clerks and technical observers. The census is using five aircraft, seven vehicles and other technical equipment.
